Craig J. Springer, a co-founding partner of Andrews & Springer, LLC, is a graduate of Widener University School of Law, Delaware (J.D. 2009) and the University of Delaware (B.A. Political Science 2006). During law school, Mr. Springer was the managing editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and was the recipient of the Donald E. Pease Award for his writing and published works.
Mr. Springer has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" for 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. For 2023, Mr. Springer was recognized among the top young lawyers in the country by Best Lawyers as a "Ones To Watch" for Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Springer was also named a Top Lawyer by Delaware Today Magazine and Philadelphia Magazine for 2019 and 2020.
During law school, Mr. Springer received his initial legal training from former Judge Peggy Ableman of the Delaware Superior Court where he received an insider perspective as to the inner workings of the Court and a judge’s thought-process. During his internship with Judge Ableman, Mr. Springer witnessed several civil and criminal trials, prepared bench memorandum and assisted in writing legal opinions. Upon graduating law school, Mr. Springer shifted focus to commercial litigation and corporate bankruptcy. Soon after taking the Delaware and New Jersey bar exams Mr. Springer began his legal career clerking for Judge Kevin Gross in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. After his clerkship, Mr. Springer became an associate attorney in the commercial and corporate litigation department of a mid-sized law firm in New York City. While practicing in New York, Mr. Springer defended large financial institutions and hedge funds such as Deutsche Bank AG, IDB Bank, Credit Suisse and Angelo Gordon & Co. in high-stakes commercial litigation and FINRA matters. Mr. Springer was also an associate attorney at a reputable Delaware boutique litigation law firm. During his practice in Delaware, Mr. Springer assisted in the prosecution of a large nation-wide class action against a major insurance company. Mr. Springer also was one of several attorneys who represented lead plaintiffs from In re Washington Mutual Mortgage Backed Securities Litigation, Case No. C09-37 MJP, in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware in the WAMU bankruptcy case. In October 2012, Mr. Springer joined the Delaware office of a New York-based class action law firm where he focused most of his practice on litigating merger and acquisition class actions nationwide.
As part of his current practice, Mr. Springer routinely litigates merger and acquisition class action cases and stockholder derivative cases in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Mr. Springer is licensed to practice law in Delaware, New York and New Jersey. Mr. Springer is also admitted to the United States District Court, District of Delaware and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.
